Arizona

HB 2148 "Human Trafficking; Violation" Expands the crime of sex trafficking to apply to all commercial sex acts or sexually-explicit performances, rather than prostitution.

HB 2151 "Human Trafficking Coordinating Council"
The human trafficking coordinating council is established in the office of the governor. The governor or the governor's designee shall serve as chairperson. The coordinating council consists of the following members including homeland security, faith based organizations, non-profit organizations, and a multitude of others working together to develop recommendations in order to strengthen state and local efforts to prevent human trafficking, protect and assist victims, and prosecute traffickers.

HB 2152 "Human Trafficking; Liability; Victims Services"
HB2152 states that any person who commits a human trafficking offense is civilly liable to the victim for actual damages, compensatory damages or punitive damages.

HB2347 To add sex trafficking and pandering as dangerous crimes punishable when committed against an incapacitated or vulnerable adult.

SB 1281 To Amend the defintion of human trafficking.

California

AB 16 To raise the penalties for soliciting someone under the age of 18 for an act of prostitution.

AB 559 To expand the scope of the defintion of human trafficking to include any person who causes, attempts, etc. a person under 18 to engage in commercial sex.

AB 988 To require proper language-appropriate information about U Visas to be provided to victims of human trafficking.

AB 1002 To create the Human Trafficking Trust Fund, and provide that forfeiture proceeds from human trafficking would be deposited in that fund, for use, upon appropriation by the Legislature, for the purpose of funding services for the victims of human trafficking, and for providing training to law enforcement and prosecutorial personnel to help combat human trafficking.
